Position: Part-Time Retail Associate

Sunday (12-5.30pm) + Monday (9.30am - 5.30pm) 

Location: The Yo Store – NW Portland
Schedule:

• Sundays: 12:00pm–5:30pm

• Mondays: 9:30am–5:30pm

• Ideally this person would take both shifts but we are open to hiring for Sunday only.

The Yo Store is seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Retail Associate to join our team. This role requires a consistent weekly commitment and the ability to work collaboratively in a small business retail environment.

Position Overview

The Retail Associate will provide excellent customer service, support daily store operations, and maintain the overall presentation and organization of the sales floor. This position works alongside another team member on Sunday but solo on a Monday (with support from store manager).

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional, welcoming customer service

• Assist customers with product selection and styling guidance

• Operate POS and complete sales transactions accurately

• Maintain visual merchandising standards and store organization and cleaning

• Assist with restocking, receiving, and general operational tasks

• Take initiative in identifying and completing daily priorities

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate reliability and consistent attendance

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Retail experience preferred

• Shopify experience a plus

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Must be able to lift and move 50lb 

Compensation

• $18 per hour

E-Commerce & Operations Support

Location: Portland, OR (in-office)
Pay: $18 per hour plus store discount
Schedule: 1 day per week (9am–5:00pm). For the right candidate, this can be split into two shorter days for 8 hours per week.
Age Requirement: 21+
Equipment Requirement: Must have your own laptop.

The Yo Store is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented E-Commerce & Operations Support team member to join us once a week in our Portland office.

This is a back-of-house role focused primarily on uploading new products to our Shopify website and supporting operational tasks as needed.

• Upload new and existing products to our Shopify website

• Copy, edit, and format product descriptions provided by brands

• Crop and prepare images for upload

• Add appropriate tags and SEO language to product listings

• Ensure correct spelling, punctuation, pricing, and categorization

• Maintain clean, consistent website merchandising

• Confirm all items are live and displayed correctly online

Secondary Responsibilities

(Completed when online workload allows)

• Unpack incoming product shipments

• Barcode items for the shop floor

• Assist with basic inventory tasks

• Break down and recycle boxes as needed

• Lift and move boxes (up to 50 lbs)

Ideal Candidate

• 21+ years of age

• Has their own laptop

• Comfortable using computers and learning backend systems

• Shopify experience preferred (not required)

• Basic Photoshop or photo editing experience is a plus (not required)

• Highly detail-oriented and organized

• Able to work independently and use initiative

• Comfortable asking questions for clarification

• Work is completed accurately and efficiently

• Website listings are clean, consistent, and error-free

• End-of-day report sent at the close of each shift summarizing completed tasks
