Spring Has Sprung!

Spring has officially sprung, and that means it's time to dive into garden planning for the year! We’re already mapping out which veggies and flowers we’ll be growing in our own gardens, and we can’t wait to get outside and start planting.
Because I've (Corissa) really dove head first into my granny era, and am an aspiring master gardener these days, we've curated a collection of garden essentials to inspire and help you in your own plant filled journey.
Get Inspired
I'm a big fan of Floret Farms! I follow her on Instagram and have participated in her mini-courses over the years, and have found her to be SO helpful.
Her book is stuffed full of helpful information on how to plan, grow, cut and keep flowers. If you've ever wanted to learn more about flowers, this is the book.
Get Started
We have a lovely mix of seed options from Piccolo Seeds. Whether you're growing simple kitchen herbs or creating your own English garden, we've got everything you need to get started. With their beautiful packaging, these seeds make lovely gifts as well!
Get Harvesting
Time to upgrade your boring old tools with these lovely colorful shears and pruners. They are also a great tool to have to care for your indoor plants as well!

Other Garden-y Things We're Thinking About Right Now
01.
It's the best time of the year to visit the nurseries around you! Here are a few of our Portland favorites...
02.
Visit one of the many beautiful gardens in Portland...
International Rose Garden: best time to visit is May-ish!
Japanese Garden: always a good time to visit!
Pittock Mansion: we love it anytime of year here.
03.
Eat What's In Season
Visit your local farmers market and see what is locally in season right now.And follow@whatchristineeats for more helpful tips!
04.
Get connected to a local community garden!
The waitlist for the Portland Parks & Rec community garden spaces is LONG. But there are plenty of other non-profits who operate spaces and always need volunteers.
One of my favorites is Growing Gardens. Growing Gardens is a Portland, Oregon based 501(c)3 nonprofit using the experience of growing food in schools, backyards, and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy and equitable communities.
05.
Take A Hike (literally)
Get out of the city and enjoy the fresh air. Dog Mountain is about to burst into bloom. And we always love Forest Park for a closer option.
06.
Go To The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival
A must do for any Oregonian! 40-acres of rainbow tulips, carnival games, food vendors and hot air balloon rides.Learn More Here
